Sue Rabley, an Early Childhood Graduate of Sheridan College & Montessori Options has over 20 years teaching experience in aycare Child Development Centres and Pre-school Education. Sue’s program reflects her dedication to our children and Co-op philosophy. She is affectionate, accepting and sincere.
Our school is a discovery centre, carefully planned to help each child develop their full potential. We strive to build self-esteem, self-confidence and social skills. We believe in ”LEARNING THROUGH PLAY”. Children play cooperatively with others and experiment freely with different exploration centres.
Mothers and Fathers serve on committees, attend meetings and assist with special events and fund raisers (including Bingos). A few parents are needed to serve as officers on our Board of Directors. A parent from each family must assist the teacher in the classroom 1 or 2 days per month. Parents are encouraged to share their interests and talents.
Located in the lower level of Drummond Hill Presbyterian Church, our school is bright and roomy. Our fenced in yard allows for outdoor play, when weather permits.
What is a Co-op?
A “Co-op” recognizes that parents are a child’s primary educator. You can share your child’s first school experience and help your child make their first steps towards independence. As parents you will have the opportunity to participate in the program and administration of the school keeping costs reasonable.
Our school has been extremely fortunate to have had the enrolment of children from the Niagara Support Services. The children participate fully in our program as well as receive individualized programs provided by our resource teacher through Niagara Support Services. The integration of special needs children has been a rewarding and successful experience for all involved.
Children between 2 ½ years and 5 years will be accepted provided they are toilet-trained or in the process of training (diapering supplies must be provided by parents) and adjust well to the school environment. A medical form, including proof of immunization must be completed before the first day of school.
