About Us

Mission Statement

The mission of Kids’ Kastle Preschool is to provide a welcoming environment for all families and to provide programming that is committed to the physical, social, emotional and cognitive development of young children through a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Kids’ Kastle Preschool’s program is an environment that is inclusive and bias free and focuses on the four foundations of How Does Learning Happen? (Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years): Belonging, Well-Being, Engagement, and Expression.

Our environment promotes the health, safety, and well-being of each child. All children are looked upon as unique, competent, capable and curious. A play-based curriculum is created based on the children’s unique needs and interests that provide experiences and activities in which each child’s learning and development will be supported.

Learning is facilitated through child initiated, adult supported experiences as well as adult led group and individual activities that allow for children’s exploration, interaction, play and inquiry. These activities create opportunities for children to learn and practice skills (physical, social, verbal and intellectual) and to develop a wholesome self-concept in a positive atmosphere of acceptance and trust. Each child will be encouraged to develop independence, self-confidence, self-regulation, curiosity, creativity and responsibility in an acceptable and satisfying way.

A sense of belonging and well-being will be fostered for all children, staff and families by providing opportunities for everyone to engage and express themselves in a welcoming and inclusive environment. We will not exclude or stereotype individuals on the basis of age, gender, appearance, race, ethnicity, religion, economic status, sexuality, culture or physical/mental ability.

We believe that families and staff are partners in creating a high quality program and welcome and encourage parental involvement through observation days, sharing skills and knowledge with the center/classes, and participating in outings with the programs. We believe in open communication and make an effort to ensure that all families are informed and feel included in the preschool.

We are always monitoring and reevaluating our program, working with community partners and other local professionals to support families and improve our ability to best serve our children, families and staff.
